Sally and Bob (and their dog, Bigby, and cat, Frances) recently invited us to their home built by Davis Homes in Indianapolis, IN. We are thrilled to share their building story with you!

Sally purchased a fixer upper home in Irvington over 35 years ago. She and Bob had been living in that home (which they loved and were never moving from) when they met the Davis Homes team at the Indianapolis Home Show. The thought of “never moving” changed during their conversation with the Davis Homes team at the Indianapolis Home Show when they saw the Davis Homes ranch floor plan, the Bristol.

The Davis Homes team found a wooded lot on the east side of Indianapolis. Bob and Sally decided it was time to build their dream home.

The lot allowed for a walkout basement.

And, has a trail that runs next to it.

Having lived in an older home in Irvington for many years, Sally and Bob wanted their new construction Davis home to have the essence of an old home. One of the design features they chose to accomplish this is their craftsman style fireplace.

Bob and Sally told us that sitting in their living room with the fireplace burning on a snowy day is “really something else”.

They have incorporated a variety of features in their kitchen to make it a kitchen they love being in every day. Their wine/coffee bar is an area they really enjoy.

And, they are so pleased that they went with the vent hood over the stove and microwave built into the cabinets.

They also love having a large walk-in pantry. And, spacious kitchen island.

Their master bathroom has a vanity with plenty of storage.

And, a beautiful accent tile on their shower and bathtub surround.

As much as they love spending time in their home…

They REALLY love hanging out in their screened in back porch, where they can listen to the birds and feel one with nature.

You can also find them frequently gardening in their backyard.

And, spending time on their front porch getting to know their neighbors.

Bob and Sally love their “cottage in the woods” that they affectionately refer to as the “Burns Bungalow”.

They told us they would definitely recommend Davis Homes to their friends and family, especially for building On Your Lot. And, that the craftsmanship of their home is impeccable.

They enjoyed working with their Davis Homes Project Manager so much that they named one of their trees after him…the “Bryan”.

Every time they sit on their back porch, they think to themselves “this is why we built this house”. And, said they have “never regretted building.”

We’d like to thank Sally and Bob (and their dog, Bigby, and cat, Frances) for welcoming us into their home and sharing their Davis Homes building story with us.

And, we hope they continue to enjoy sharing their home with family and friends for years to come.
